for several years, but today, my encounter left a fowl taste in my
mouth.
The program was about video game addictions and the negative aspect of spending too much time on the computer. Second Life came up in the conversation.
It seemed that the talkshow host had a significant distaste for SL and excoriated it as one of the reasons behind the 'pornification' of the culture. Several times SL was spoken of as a 'game' and was not acknowledged as a 'community'. As in all communities, you have the less than desirable folk that you'd rather stay away from, but that doesn't say that you paint with a broad brush the entire community. That was what was happening on this radio talkshow.
